My uncle's 'business partner' almost took everything my father left us

My father died in 2019. Left us a plot in Akure and small money in GTBank. My uncle, his younger brother, said he would help us manage it. I was 25, fresh out of UNILAG, still grieving. I signed whatever he put in front of me.

Three years later I went to check the land. There was a foundation on it. The caretaker said a man from Lagos bought it for 4.5 million naira. I stood there looking at concrete and rebar, and my hands were shaking. My uncle had forged my signature, sold my father's land, and moved the money through a bureau de change to buy a Lexus.

We are still in court. The case has been adjourned four times. My mother does not talk about it. She just says God will judge. The thing that pains me is not the land. It is that I trusted him because he cried at the burial.
